Can you carry lavender plants on planes?

I bought my aunts lavender plants for Christmas and instead of shipping them I tought I would just take them with me when I go home. The plan was to drive but now I'm flying. Does anybody know if I would be allowed to carry them onto the plane? It's just a flight from Texas to Michigan. Thank for any help!
