What is that music (noise?) playing in the background in MTV2's "Your Music Scene" local music cable ads?

I'm talking about those 15 second commercials mtv2 plays late night that has your local cable company's logo and shows a localized line-up of concerts or 1 particular band thats ping through. It sounds like random noises/sounds, not really even a beat to it. A loud distorted keyboard sound, some chimes maybe. I used to hear this kinda stuff late night on college stations sometimes. It was called Noise or Ambient maybe? Does anybody know what I'm talking about, and where I can find more of this music. It's great to sleep to/smoke to. etc.
