Married filing Seperately?

my hubby and i need sum major advise. since beng married weve always filed jointly. we have 3 children. we recently got a free tax quote and it showed we wont receive EIC. Weve also looked into filing seperately? If we file seperately do we need 2 different addresses or accounts? Will we have to owe BIG next year? we didnt owe any last year. Will it make us owe this year? i made the lesser income. If we file seperately will be get in trouble with IRS? plz help. need answers
